Harrogate-based Raworths has cemented its reputation as one of the leading law firms in the north of England, with its Trusts, Wills and Estates (TWE) team achieving a Band 1 ranking by the Chambers High Net Worth Guide 2026 for the tenth year in a row.
The publication is one of the leading guides to the international private wealth market. Rankings are based on extensive independent research. Raworths’ TWE team has maintained its position as the only firm ranked Band 1 for the region York, Hull and surrounding area. The 25-strong team, which is one of the largest private client teams in Yorkshire, is also ranked in Band 1 in the National Leaders (outside London) category.
For the first time, Senior Associate Ryan Carter has been ranked as an “Associate to Watch”. Ryan joined Raworths in 2017, specialising in designing bespoke estate and succession strategies, often involving complex family structures, business and agricultural interests and intergenerational wealth.
Ryan joins other individually named Raworths specialists in the guide who maintained their rankings, including Joint Heads of Trusts, Wills and Estates, Alison Walker (Band 2) and Sam Jenner (Band 1, having achieved this top banding position last year) and Partner, Caroline Hedges (Band 2)
Alison and Sam took over as Joint Heads in 2024, enabling Rachel Tunnicliffe – who led the team for a decade – to expand her other leadership roles as Senior Partner at Raworths and Head of Private Client Services. For the tenth year in a row, Rachel Tunnicliffe has also maintained her Band 1 ranking.
Rachel Tunnicliffe, Senior Partner and Head of Private Client Services at Raworths said: “This is fantastic recognition for the exceptional expertise of our Trusts, Wills and Estates team at every level. To maintain our Band 1 rankings for a decade based on the feedback of our clients and professional contacts is also a ringing endorsement of our workplace culture, which places value on building trusted relationships with our colleagues, clients and industry peers.
“With Sam and Alison at the helm, this talented team continues to go from strength to strength. In the last year we’ve also welcomed a new partner from a leading national and international firm, further elevating our expertise as we continue to offer the very best legal advice on the complexities that life throws at businesses, individuals and families.”
The recognition comes on the back of a major period of growth for the TWE team which continues to expand its client portfolio and welcomed Karl Dembicki as Partner earlier this year. Karl joined from his previous role at London-based legal firm Russells, bringing a wealth of experience in private client work, including from the entertainment industry.
The team is also ranked in Band 1 in the Legal 500, another leading independent guide to the legal profession and won ‘Out of London Practice of the Year’ at the national Chambers High Net Worth Awards 2024.
The Chambers HNW Guide 2026 quotes independent feedback gathered by researchers including:
“Raworths is one of my standouts because it has the breadth and depth of knowledge.”
“The Raworths team are very knowledgeable, good at explaining the issues and helping clients with what they really want.”
“…the service level and professionalism is felt at every level of the business.”
