Rachel is highly regarded as a private client expert by clients and other professionals. She has over 30 years’ experience of dealing with wills, trusts and wider succession issues for individuals, business owners and families. She advises on structures to manage and pass on wealth and businesses in tax efficient and family-appropriate ways frequently using family charters, family investment companies and trusts. She often acts for several generations of the same family, providing a “virtual private office” service.
She has excellent working relationships with accountants, investment brokers, financial advisers and other lawyers and ensures excellent team working to meet clients’ needs.
Rachel acts as a trustee for many private trusts and a small number of charities, and also advises professional and lay trustees on their duties.
The current edition of Chambers High Net Worth Guide, a key publication for the international private wealth market, ranks the Trusts, Wills and Estates team (led by Rachel) in Band 1 for private wealth law (York, Hull and surrounds) and National Leaders (outside London) categories. The team is also ranked Band 1 by Legal 500 UK.
The Trust, Wills and Estates team are winners of the Chambers HNW Awards 2024 Out of London Practice of the Year category.
