Raworths shortlisted for Private Client Award in Yorkshire Legal Awards

Raworths has been shortlisted for the Private Client Award in this year’s Yorkshire Legal Awards.

Raworths’ Trusts, Wills and Estates team has thrived in recent years, growing from 10 to 19 staff, likewise the client portfolio has more than doubled as the team’s reputation for quality has grown.  The department is one of the largest in Yorkshire, acting for clients across the region and the UK.  They assist with complex affairs, including advising on business and agricultural assets, foreign assets, and charitable trusts.  Members of the team regularly act as trustees, attorneys and executors.

Raworths recently received Tier 1 ranking for York, Hull and surrounding area in the recently launched Chambers and Partners High Net Worth (HNW) Guide 2018, a key publication for the international private wealth market.  The guide states: “The team has provided down-to-earth, responsive and efficient advice and service, underpinned by sophisticated technical expertise and knowledge.” A peer calls it “the most outstanding firm in the area around York,” adding: “If we had any client to refer to in York or Harrogate, we would go to Raworths.”.  Rachel Tunnicliffe, Head of Trusts, Wills and Estates, was once again singled out as the only Tier 1 ranked solicitor in the York, Hull and surrounding area for her exceptional private client work. Colleagues Peter Greswold and David Garfitt received Tier 2 ranking.

Speaking about the Yorkshire Legal Awards nomination, Rachel said: “I am delighted that the Trusts, Wills and Estates team has been shortlisted.  This is great recognition of the team’s impressive achievements this year which results from our considerable experience and dedication to our clients.  We are committed to providing both our private and commercial clients with the best service we possibly can and our breadth of expertise and senior, partner led relationships is one way we achieve this.”

The winners of the awards will be announced on 11 October at an awards ceremony at New Dock Hall in Leeds.
