Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival returns from 9 to 19 October 2025 with another enthralling literary lineup. The Festival once again celebrates great writing and leading thinkers, sharing their stories and featuring a programme designed to entertain, inspire, educate, challenge and amuse.
At the forefront of the literary scene thanks to its stellar line-up of literary names, the Festival was picked out as ‘One of the Top 3 Literary Festivals in the UK’ by The Guardian.
This year’s speakers include former Scotland First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Conservative MP and former chancellor Jeremy Hunt, TV personality Chris Tarrant, presenters John Suchet and Patrick Grant, comedian, actress and author Helen Lederer, and sporting legends Graham Gooch and Martin O’Neill.
Also appearing is historian Kate Vigurs, philosopher A. C. Grayling, the creators of the popular audio drama podcast Victoriocity Chris and Jen Sugden. Plus comedian and travel writer Dom Joly, neurodiversity advocate and podcaster Alex Partridge, journalist Sarah Vine, and comedian and novelist Mark Watson.
There’s fun for all the family with the popular Children’s Festival featuring popular authors including Steve McRae, Anne and Steve Brusatte, Mama G, Susannah Lloyd and Tom Vaughan.
The popular Literary Lunch guest speaker is the BBC’s Chief International Correspondence Lyse Doucet.
