We’re delighted to announce that the Raworths team has reached their target of £2000 for its Charity of the Year partnership in 2017. Staff participated in numerous activities throughout the year to raise funds for the extraordinary charity which provides respite to children and young adults who care for someone in their family.
Highlights included the Knaresborough Bed Race, where we entered a team with a special guest team-mate, Kay Crewdson from BBC Radio York while John Carter from our Commercial Property department also donned his running shoes to raise £250 when he took part in the York Marathon and secured a generous donation from the Harrogate Round Table.
Zoe Robinson, Managing Partner said; “We’re so pleased to have reached our target amount, in today’s busy life it can be hard to always find the time to support good causes but this excellent, local charity was nominated and chosen by our staff and consequently they were more than enthusiastic fundraisers!”
Other fundraising events have included knitting chicks at Easter for donations and staff rounded off the year’s activities by donating crafts for the children to use at their fortnightly after school club. A tombola also raised £210 to buy Pizza Express vouchers enabling the children enjoy a rare treat.
The Carers’ Resource were delighted to be presented with a cheque during Raworths business presentation event held at the Everyman Cinema in December.
Anne Wells, Event and Fundraising Co-ordinator, Harrogate Carers’ Resource said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Raworths for their support throughout the year. We are currently in contact with over 250 Harrogate District young carers and the donation from Raworths will allow us to offer more one-to-one support at times of crisis, regular breaks at after school clubs and trips during the school holidays.”
