Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival 2016

The Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival is this year being held from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th July 2016 at the Crown Hotel, Harrogate as part of the Harrogate International Festivals.

The 2016 speakers include war correspondent Jeremy Bowen (who had to cancel a previous appearance in 2014 after having been shot!), Julia Bradbury, Vince Cable, James Naughtie, Mary Portas, Hugh Pym and John Suchet. Subjects range from the solar system to football (the 1966 World Cup), Shakespeare to music, and politics to world events. There is something for everyone.

The Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival was launched in 2012 with the appearance of BBC newsreader Sophie Raworth, who is the great-grand-daughter of our founder, Edwin Raworth. It has rapidly become a key part of the internationally renowned Harrogate International Festivals joining the Theakstons Crime Writing, History, Music, Children’s and other festivals.  It has been picked by Harper’s Bazaar as one of the UK’s Best Literary Festivals, and has become the hot ticket on the national Festival circuit thanks to its stellar line-up.

We are also delighted that in this 50th anniversary year of the Harrogate Festivals we are actively supporting their ‘Future 50 Appeal’ and have recently agreed that we will continue to be the title sponsor of the RHLF for the next five years from 2017.
