Raworths has further boosted its private client Trusts Wills and Estates team (TWE) with the recruitment of Peter Greswold who joins the firm as Partner. The significant appointment follows considerable growth for the unit and the addition of Peter, who brings over 30 years of experience, is anticipated to enhance and improve the department’s offering.
Formerly a partner at Wrigleys, Peter is recognised both regionally and nationwide for his knowledge on structured capital tax planning, inheritance tax strategies, asset protection and long term succession issues. Peter’s appointment makes the unit one of the largest and most qualified in Yorkshire with three partners and 19 members of staff in total.
Headed by Rachel Tunnicliffe, who joined the firm in 2014, the TWE department has thrived growing from 10 to 19 staff with a large increase in fee income during the same period. Likewise, the client portfolio has more than doubled as the unit’s reputation for quality has grown. In addition to Rachel, Peter will also work alongside David Garfitt, Partner in what will be an expert led team.
Rachel Tunnicliffe, Head of Trusts Wills and Estates said: “It’s tremendous to have Peter on board. He is an extremely well-respected figure professionally and his expertise will complement our existing structure superbly. His ability and personality will be a great asset, not only for our clients, who will undoubtedly benefit from his knowledge but also for the younger members of the team who can learn from him. Developing technical ability is very important to us and all solicitors in the department are either STEP members or working towards that significant qualification.”
Peter Greswold added: “I’m delighted to be joining Raworths, the firm’s proposition is strong as it offers an equal mix of private client and commercial expertise. In addition, the strength and size of the team ensures clients receive well informed, robust advice.”
At the same time, the team also welcomes Ryan Carter. A young solicitor already established in the Yorkshire market, he will become the fourth fee-earner to join the team in the last 12 months. The additional staff have been recruited in response to the unit’s growing influx of work.
Raworths Trusts, Wills and Estates team is one of the largest in Yorkshire, acting for clients across the region and the UK. They assist clients with complex affairs, including advising on business and agricultural assets, foreign assets, and charitable trusts.
