Three members of the CSR team at Raworths spent a very productive afternoon with the Harrogate Homeless Project (HHP) recently, meeting the staff at their HQ and learning a little more about their work whilst planning fundraising activities for the year ahead.
The scope of HHP’s work is broad and includes running the hostel, where they help to accommodate homeless people overnight, letting them wash and get some rest, right through to supporting individuals on their journey back to independent living. The team were impressed by their knowledge, experience and determination to step in and support people who often have nowhere else to turn.
The afternoon provided an opportunity to discuss fundraising ideas and partnerships and plans were made to join forces with other supporters to bolster fundraising efforts. As well as this, Raworths employee fundraising activities for the year were discussed including a team entry for York Marathon Relay, entering a team in the Harrogate 10K and sponsored walking in the Yorkshire Dales.
Raworths has ambitions to exceed the amount achieved through fundraising efforts in 2017 when £2,000 was raised for the Harrogate Carers’ Resource.
