Raworths, the Harrogate law firm, has been highly commended in the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) Awards for 2011.
Raworths is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and was amongst the first law firms in the country to appoint a legal executive as partner. The regulations changed in 2009 enabling law firms to appoint partners who were not qualified through the Law Society and Selena Hinds, head of Probate, Wills and Trusts at Raworths was one of the first of such appointments. This was marked by an invitation to a special reception hosted by CILEX at the House of Commons. Joanna Broadhead, another legal executive at the firm, won the President’s Award from CILEX in 2010. The Award recognises an individual’s exceptional achievement and outstanding service to the legal community. The Award was open to 22,000 legal executives in England and Wales.
Zoe Robinson, partner at Raworths says: “As a firm, we are committed to giving opportunities to all our talented professionals, whether they achieve their qualifications through the Law Society or through CILEX. We are delighted to have two more trainee legal executives in our firm, following in the success of Selena Hinds and Joanna Broadhead and we are pleased that CILEX has chosen to recognise our contribution with this commendation.”
