Head of Corporate
Many business owners will concentrate on the growth and day to day operation of their business and leave the issues of exit planning and succession until too late. This narrows the options potentially available and reduces the chances of achieving the desired outcomes.
Having a clear idea of a client’s objectives allows us to use our experience to work with them and their other advisors to implement the most appropriate strategy to achieve those objectives. This may range from structuring the business to be desirable to a particular type of buyer to grooming a management team for a buyout.
Succession can be an integral part of an overall exit strategy with the transition of the business to the next generation requiring careful and sometimes sensitive planning. There is often a balance to be struck to ensure a successful transfer of ownership and responsibility whilst at the same time ensuring the financial needs of the exiting party are met.
Our experience of the issues involved both on a commercial level and with our colleagues on the estate planning aspects ensure the best possible outcomes are achieved both for the business and for the individuals.
