Conveyancing Quality Scheme

"The Conveyancing Quality Scheme will provide a recognised quality standard for residential conveyancing practices. Achievement of membership will establish a level of credibility for member firms with stakeholders (regulators, lenders, insurers and consumers) based upon:

  • the integrity of the Senior Responsible Officer and other key conveyancing staff.
  • the firm's adherence to good practice management standards.
  • adherence to prudent and efficient conveyancing procedures through the scheme protocol.

This scheme will create a trusted community which will deter fraud - year on year we will drive up standards."

The Law Society - 2011

We are one of the first firms of solicitors in England and Wales, out of about 10,000 practices, to become a member of The Law Society's new Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS).  Not all conveyancers provide the same level of service and the purpose of this scheme is to identify those firms which operate to a demanding level of service.

When applying for CQS we had to satisfy the Law Society on a wide range of issues which help ensure a high quality service, including:

  • The type of conveyancing work done by the firm
  • The adequacy of supervision
  • The level of staff turnover
  • The level of any complaints and claims
  • The level of qualification and practical experience of partners and staff
  • That the firm operates to a high standard of business and financial management (Raworths was the only 45th firm in England and Wales to be accredited to the Law Society's exacting LEXCEL Practice Management Standard in 2000)
  • The adequacy of training and continuous professional development
  • That all relevant staff have completed CRB checks

We strive to provide the highest level of service possible and CQS adds to our membership of other specialist panels and assurance schemes.

By using a firm with CQS you give yourself peace of mind and reduce your risks when dealing with what is probably one of the most expensive deals of your life.
