Fionula Scanlan

Fionula began her career as a newspaper journalist in Ireland. Having decided on a career change, she studied law and subsequently worked for a corporate governance consultancy (as a research analyst) and a large commercial insurance broker in London (as an advisor/broker in the area of transaction-related risks). She trained as a solicitor with European law firm, Osborne Clarke, working both at their Bristol and London offices, and qualified into their Corporate Tax department. Fionula then moved Harrowell Shaftoe in York as a company/commercial solicitor and in 2006 she joined a UK subsidiary of the Swiss multinational chemicals company Clariant, where she worked alongside the UK company secretary as an in-house solicitor and assistant company secretary.
