Deborah studied at the College of Law, Chester, after obtaining a Business Law degree at Huddersfield University in 1993. Initially Deborah worked in the 'real world' of industry as a legal assistant with Dawsongoup plc. dealing with a wide range of legal issues relating to their vehicle, hire and leasing business. These included credit control, finance agreements, stock recovery, insolvency and court proceedings. She then worked for Hammond Suddards and Coates and Co. in Leeds before joining Raworths in 1998.
Deborah was admitted as a solicitor in 2000 and became a partner in 2001. She is now a senior partner and Head of our Employment Law Unit and the partner responsible for HR issues.
Deborah is an accredited CEDR mediator having trained at the CEDR international skills course in Barcelona. She is a member of our ADR team together with Christopher Butterworth and Zoe Robinson.
Deborah deals with a wide range of employment matters including employment documentation, dismissal and redundancy, tribunal work, dispute resolution and general advice on strategy and HR planning. She is a member of the Employment Law Association (ELA).
