Leading Harrogate solicitors, Raworths LLP, have made three new appointments to their commercial and private client teams and in IT support.
Solicitor Fionula Scanlan joins the commercial team under the leadership of Mike Sharp. Fionula is originally from Ireland and began her career as a journalist on the Limerick Leader. Having decided on a career change, she studied at De Montfort University, Leicester where she completed her law degree. This was followed by work as a research analyst and then corporate liability co-ordinator, the latter at Aon Risk Services, where she qualified as a registered broker at Lloyds of London. She joined European law firm, Osborne Clarke, working both at their Bristol and London offices in their corporate taxation department. Fionula moved to York in 2004 and worked for Harrowell Shaftoe as a commercial solicitor. In 2006 she joined Clariant Services UK, one of the world leaders in speciality chemicals working as an in-house solicitor and assistant company secretary. Fionula brings the fee earners in the commercial team at Raworths to fourteen.
Laura Walker joins the private client team as a legal assistant specialising in probate, wills and trusts. She comes from Hull where she worked for Stamp Jackson Proctor for three years. Laura will be working under the direction of Justine Hardy.
Daniel Dunn returns to Raworths on a full-time basis in ICT systems development, having worked part-time for the last two years whilst studying for his degree at the University of York. Dan has an honours degree in Management, Information Technology and Language and will be continuing the development of professional IT systems within the organisation.
Managing partner, Christopher Butterworth says, ‘These are three key appointments for the firm. We are especially delighted to attract a candidate of Fionula’s quality, reflecting the development and strength of the commercial team.’
