Raworths, the Harrogate law firm, is sponsoring the charity Relate’s Prosecco Opera evening in aid of their Children and Young People Service. The Prosecco Opera evening will take place at Harrogate’s Majestic Hotel on Saturday 27th March and very few tickets remain available for this prestigious event.
The evening will commence with a Prosecco drinks reception, followed by a three course dinner of Italian cuisine. Each course will be interspersed with performances by professional opera singers from Ultimate Voice including popular arias and West End favourites. The singers include Ben Kerslake, the renowned Australian tenor, Joanne Dexter, the soprano with an international reputation and John Cunningham who sings bass baritone and has appeared as principal artist at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Relate’s Children and Young People Service helps around 300 children and young people in the Harrogate area each year. The service is offered free to young people and payment is never requested either from them or their parents. It costs over £40,000 a year to provide a dedicated team of counsellors who can help young people deal with issues like peer pressure, cyber bullying, anxiety about school examinations, fear of student debt, family breakdown and the drug scene. Some young people find it hard to discuss these worries with their parents or, in some cases, their parents are unable to provide the emotional support their children need to tackle these issues. Relate’s counsellors provide the time and a safe place to be heard, and their support can enable young people to manage their problems and feel good about themselves.
